Two people are dead after a train collided with a car in Hubbard County, Minnesota. The accident happened Friday morning, Jan. 30th, at 9:57 a.m. on Hubbard County Road 101 crossing in Farden Township. The driver has been identified as 61-year-old Douglas Stewart of rural Cass Lake. The passenger was his wife 42-year-old Tiffany Stewart. Investigation shows that Stewart was travelling southbound on Hubbard County Road 101 when he stopped at the stop sign for the railroad tracks. The BNSF train was traveling westbound on the tracks. As the train approached the intersection, Stewart proceeded to cross the tracks when the vehicle was struck. Both victims were pronounced dead on scene. The incident remains under investigation.
